Gigan has a whole arsenal of weapons. It should be noted that Gigan has hammer claws where his hands should be and is a cyclops with one red eye. He can also encase himself in a protective blue diamond while traveling through space. Gigan has a tail spike that he never used in combat. He can also be equiped with explosives at his claw tips. In Godzilla: Final Wars, he has grappling hooks that he can launch off his hands and pull an opponent in, and the tail spike changed to a pincer. When he got upgraded (known as Power Up Gigan) his hammer claws were replaced with two chainsaw like slicers. Gigan in Godzilla vs Gigan 1972
Origin
Gigan is a chicken like alien cyborg. He appeared in Godzilla vs. Gigan (a.k.a Godzilla on Moster Island or Godzilla in War of the Monsters) controlled by the Space Hunter Nebula Aliens. He also appeared in Godzilla vs. Megalon on Megalon's side. The movies were filmed in 1972 and in 1973. He later appeared in Godzilla: Final Wars. He got upgraded later in the movie.

Final Thoughts
Gigan is considered to be a fan favorite as one of Godzilla's enemy's. While he doesn't have the best movies he will still be a very popular Godzilla character for years to come.
